Safe Steps - Shoe supply for post-disaster survivors
This is my final year minor project that was handed in for the IF design awards.

What is Safe Step:
It is a cloth-like shoe design that protects natural disaster survivors from getting leg injuries when walking in the affected area.
Research:
EM-DAT has recorded 7,348 disasters worldwide over the last 20 years, which have affected over 3 billion people. Casualties in developing countries are likely to walk in sandals or bare feet, prone to bacterial infection and leg injuries. Donated shoes may not fit and turn into waste that piles up.
Goals:
Step Safe is designed to be mass-produced with light, rip-stop, biodegradable materials that cost less to transport and are more eco-friendly. It aims to be easily used while offering maximum support.

Project type: Individual project
Duration: 6 weeks
